Do you have a "bad" knee? Maybe one leg just doesn't have the same range of motion that the other leg does. The Easy Knees Pedal Swing is designed to help you find the perfect adjustment for each leg, instead of compromising on an adjustment that isn't really perfect for either leg.
The Easy Knees Pedal Swing comes as a kit, including one crank shortener and one pedal swing. Pedal swings are NOT used in pairs.
It's kind of hard to imagine how the swing works, but if you've ever noticed that it's hard for one of your knees to bend as far as the other one or you've noticed that one knee has a hard time straightening out all the way, this is for you. This allows you to maintain a "normal" pedal stroke on your "good" leg, and a modified pedal stroke that will be more gentle for your other leg.

This crank arm shortener and pedal swing is a great idea, this helped my wife get back on her bike and ride after having hip and knee surgery… it’s been 3-4 years since she could ride. Thank you and pass this on to others that have a limited range of motion. We tried just the shortener and that didn’t work for her and then we added the pedal swing and it worked perfectly ! I had a failed knee replacement a few years ago and a successful revision a couple of years later. Unfortunately, my flexion is now limited. I have always been an avid bicyclist, and the crank/pedal swing has helped me get back to biking and enjoying my favorite sport! A friend surprised me with a set a few months ago for my hybrid bike and I just recently bought a set for my road bike. I now ride with a Sunday bike group, and I just came back from a six-day biking trip in the Northeast! Thank you, for giving people like me a second chance at enjoying biking again!
Great product! I have four of these on various bikes. It has allowed me to ride again after a knee surgery gone wrong. I do place two hard plastic pieces on each side of the crank arm to protect it and to keep it from creaking while riding.
I had a total knee replacement in November 2025. Did not get full range of motion back. I thought I was going to have to resort to a recumbent trike and then a friend told me about easy knees. I had my bike shop owner install and it is a blessing that I can still ride my bike. Great apparatus. 🙏🙏
Knee replacement surgery has left me with limited range of bending . I thought my riding days were over ! I installed this device within 20 minutes . The machining is first class . The fit is perfect . I can ride again ! I dont have enough positive praise for this device . My favorite hobby is mine to enjoy once again . Another plus is the adjustable nature of this device . As I continue riding I will no doubt regain range of motion from the surgery . This device allows further adjustment as I heal ! GREAT JOB ! 100% PRODUCT !
I had my left knee replaced and had limited flexibility and this worked great for me.
Fantastic product. Just fitted and it really does do what it says on the tin.. There is a manufacturer in the UK who makes something similar which I nearly bought but the quality is not as good and it’s over priced being nearly double.. So shipping to the UK, Taxes and whatnot, your product was still £100 cheaper and better quality.. Well done to all and many thanks .. Denise in the UK.. My wife is recovering from a serious accident where her patella was badly smashed. Recovery is slow, and currently months after the accident she can flex her knee to about 90 degrees, not nearly enough to ride a normally set up bike (which needs about 120 degrees of knee flex). The swing cranks let her start pedalling now, which is brilliant from so many perspectives. On the tandem she says it feels like pedalling normally - on our first ride we rode 18km with 250m ascent, with a couple of rests. Amazing. It seems to be accelerating her recovery too, she had a big jump in flexibility at the next physio appointment. On the technical side, the swing cranks are beautifully engineered and executed, and it is excellent value, remarkably so given it is such a speciality item. There are fairly big steps between the hole settings. We combined picking a hole setting and adjusting saddle height, to get just give a tiny stretch at the top of the pedal circle to help recovery of range of movement. The bolt that went into the crank arm was a little too long, it stuck out on the other side of the crank, and clipped our frame which has very low clearance between the crank arm and the chain stay - so I applied an angle grinder to the surplus bolt length, grinding it flush, and the problem was solved. (this wouldn't apply on most bikes, ours has particularly low clearance). So it looks like not only will it let us ride together for fun, but it will probably significantly hasten her recovery overall. Overall, I can't recommend this piece of kit enough.
This was his first time trying the easy knee crank shortener and pedal swing and his very first time pedaling in almost 2 years! For a 9 year old child, this adaptive pedal is a life changer. It means freedom, fun, independence, normal access to social activities, and SPEED! There are no words for my gratitude! We started with a very minimal flexion (the lowest setting) and almost full extension (one spot shorter than full). Two weeks later I was able to make an adjustment, increasing both flexion and extension a little. My child didn’t even notice the change, but I love the flexibility of options and ease of use!
A knee replacement left me with borderline range of motion for bike riding. I have been struggling for years. Now that I have added this to my trail bike, I'm back to riding comfortably. I can effectively push on the pedal and maintain a decent foot position. The swing arm is a bit hard to comprehend but it makes total sense when installed. I recommend this for anyone with different range of motion in one leg.
I have severe knee arthritis and initially shortened cranks to 145mm. I was still riding with my heel on the pedal due to lack of mobility. I installed and adjusted the crank arm shortener and swing pedal and I am able to ride PAIN FREE with my foot in the right position. An absolute game changer allowing me to ride again. Thank you!!
My son has a condition that causes weak and stiff knees. With two easy knees pendulum pedals on his step thru bike, he was able to ride a two-wheel bike for the first time two weeks ago at age 16. These pedals are incredible!

Wow! What a game changer. I can't believe I'm biking again! Like others that have purchased it, I had a full knee replacement (3 months ago) and didn't get the full range of motion back (100 degrees). Now I'm biking daily, building up my strength, losing weight, and getting more range of motion. There were some issues with shipping (USPS issues, not Terra Cycle's fault) and Aaron was absolutely fantastic! When I finally got it, I read through all the instructions (which were very detailed and even included pics) and put it on our Peloton. Took me about 20 minutes of trial and error and fine tuning, and then I 'got it'. It's hard to explain, but once you 'figure it out', it makes so much sense. My wife and I both use the Peloton, and when I use it, I can put this pedal on in about 90 seconds. Would 100% recommend this to anyone who has knee issues which limit the range of motion. This will get you back working out, get you feeling better, and improve your mobility.
I've not been able to ride a bike for years due to limited range of motion of my left knee. This product now allows me to pedal my E bike easily. The only issue is it has a creaking sound when I pedal, I've sprayed WD40 and Silicone spray on the moving parts and it still creaks. Does anyone else have this issue and how did you get rid of it?
I’m 55. I have been riding bikes most of my life. 7 years ago I had a knee replacement that left me with less mobility than I needed to ride a bike comfortably. That is until I discovered Terracycle Easy knees crank shortener! What a great idea! I ordered it immediately and installed it on my Jamis cyclocross bike and went out for a ride. Wow, what a difference. I missed riding so much. I’ve been riding every day since. Thanks folks for getting this out there. I’ll need to order another one now because I just ordered a new mountain bike.
Put this on my townie easy pedal swingarm helps giving back my range of motion without it I can only pedal with my heel but my heel falls off. and the sprocket on my bike is kind of stretched normally it would be under the seat post. but with this easy pedal makes riding all enjoyable again. I got this in for a customer who had a knee replacement and couldn't bend his knee enough to get his foot over at the top of the pedal stroke. The Easy Knees swing kit worked perfectly and allowed the customer to pedal his e-Bike again without pain. I'll will defiantly be ordering more.

Allowed me to start training indoors after total knee replacement. Now able to revert to normal pedal position after 8 weeks.
So far,the modified crank is working as expected (currently indoors on a trainer stand). Will be interested to see how I cope on the streets!
I had ORIF surgery with a difficult post-op experience that lead inexorably to a revision TKA. They had me immobilized for a week after TKA and my flexion was terrible, not enough to get around on a conventional bicycle crank. With this device I was able to resume riding having about 90 degrees of usable flexion. Ultimately I had a manipulation which led to a nice flexion breakthrough, so now I'm back to using a normal cycle crank.
I have significant decreased ROM in both knees and ordered the Crank Shortener Kit (both L and R). What an amazing tool! I can now pedal my bike with no issues (something I had not been able to do for many years). Honestly its been a life saver to be able to get outside and enjoy the great outdoors again!

This works flawlessly It’s given me the ability to ride my bike again after having had knee replacement surgery and losing the ability to bend my knee sufficiently for full rotation of the bike crank.

I am eighty years old and have only 90 degrees range in my right knee after a botched knee replacement, infection and two additional total replacements. Three years ago before all of this mess started I rode my bike almost daily and have missed doing so since. Even after several bouts of therapy I thought I would never be able to ride again. I was wrong. The crank shortener and pedal swing on the right side proved miraculous. I can now ride with no pain and still plenty of leverage to ride the way I wish. Thank you TerraCycle. I would highly recommend them to anyone experiencing pain because of lack of range. If you have as much as 90 degrees range I can assure you that you can ride pain free.

I received the Easy Petal in a timely manner! The tech at the bike shop installed it today! I just rode it around the development for the first time! I have a reduced ROM because of a bad knee replacement two years ago! I can’t tell you how happy it made me to be able to pedal my new Velotric Triker! It was comfortable and I am happy to be able to get exercise and I am looking forward to the freedom of getting out and riding! The pedal swing has been the best investment contributing to my rehab after total knee replacement. I was unable to use my recumbent bike for PT until I found this device on line. I started using it on the lowest settings and have periodically adjusted to the point now that I have almost 120 deg of flex and 5 deg ext. / Glenn
Ronald C has it exactly right. This bit of mechanical wizardry does all it claims. I had my left leg amputated 4 months ago, and am only in my prosthetic leg for 6 weeks(!). I tried riding my new ebike (bought prior to surgery), and due to fit of prosthesis, could not make full pedal rotation with left leg. To fix issue, I bought the Terracycle Easy Knees crank shortener/pedal swing. It installs in minutes, allows full range of motion, and it feels incredibly natural. Took a short 8 mile test ride today. Holy moly! What a find! It works great!
Its been a few weeks now . Ive only put 10-15 miles on the bike since the installation but everything is working fine . No lose screws ! In fact no issues of any kind . Absolutely love to be riding my bike again . I simply would be done riding without this easy knees crank device . I gave 100% rating in the beginning and nothing has changed . One warning which is touched on in the instructions is the need to avoid adjusting the device where the total downstroke does not result in your peddle getting much closer to the ground . I had one situation where the peddle hit the ground when riding over uneven ground !Very important since I can see scenario's where you could be thrown off the bike if the peddle struck the ground in certain situations

Major rollover car accident at 18 turned into "can't ride my bike anymore" by the time I was 55. Plot twist: I'm back on it with zero pain, and I give 100% of the credit to the clever engineering behind the pedal swing. I now own two - one on my road bike, one for my trail bike. Next up: we're planning to bike the 240-mile Katy Trail in MO.
I have not been able to ride my bike for 6 years after a total knee replacement left me with limited range of motion. I went to so many bike shops to try to figure out a way to ride my bike. Just recently my new doctor told me about your bike pedal. I am so excited. It works so great I can ride again. I am sad that for 6 years I could not ride and all the resources I looked at never mentioned this pedal. I even had my cranks on my bike shortened but that did not help and my back took a hit from the uneven gait of my pedaling. I feel that this needs to be marketed at physical therapy places. I am so thankful that you make such a great pedal. I am just not sure why none of the the physical therapist I saw, did not know about this pedal. 6 years of not being able to ride gone. So you can only imagine how ecstatic, over the top with happiness to be able to ride again. Thank you.
