This is the idler we use on our chain tensioners. They are handy in other return side applications too. For example, older Vision bikes used something close to this for return chain management and these idlers can be used as a replacement.
Perfect upgrade on my Volae Century. The chain now rides on it's rollers against the rubber ring instead of riding on the side plates. I also installed the 15t power idler with new chain and cassette. Went from constant growl to silent.
These are the same idlers T-Cycle uses in their own Chain Tensioner. I decided to make my own for my 2004 Greenspeed GT3 instead of buying a complete kit from either T-Cycle or Greenspeed. I used two of these small idlers and two T-Cycle clamps and made the other parts myself. In the long run I didn't save much money over buying a kit, but I learned a lot about chain lines and reducing friction, and my chain tensioner works very well, with no noticeable drag from it. I am now making another one for a 2008 Greenspeed GT1.
Hello, idlers roll OK on the bench. Wheater now OK to try on the road. If you want,i can let you know in a few weeks. Question: if the ´´ o ´´ ring on the mini idler breaks , can it be use without it ? Also, spacers are usefull. Gilles
Flawless quality, great design, your power idler was perfect for my project. Thanks!
Put the Idler on my Volae and it is working great. My original idler was worn out and wobbling, so this is a big improvement. Also when I called, the gentleman told me it would fit and work on my bile and it did. Thanks- John
