The Lightning P-38 Idler Kit includes a Power Idler with a Single-Sided Clamp-On Chain Keeper, a Return Idler with a Single-Sided Clamp-On Chain Keeper and all the necessary hardware to make it work. This kit provides smooth, quiet, long lasting performance.
Note: Some of the older Lightning bikes use a smaller diameter idler. Please ensure you can fit a 2.75" idler in the back if you have an older bike—if not, T-Cycle can custom produce a kit to fit these bikes based on the newer style kits, just send us an email.
Nice upgrade from Lightning stock idlers..
It was good. A much more robust design that stock. The only gripe I would have is the front idler bolt was way too long. I ended up using my existing bolt which was in very good shape. I am very happy with the setup. I am hoping that this will correct a problem with chain wear due to excessive cross tracking on the rear cassette. I think it will as t-cycle rear idler moves with the drive-line.

My original power idler was worn down to nubs and making awful grinding sound while climbing. Switched these in and all is well again. After first 50 miles of break-in they run silent and smooth. I sprung the extra $ for the titanium version which I think is worth it. I have Terracycle idlers on my Azub Six to replace the guide tubes and on my Rans Screamer recumbent as well. Excellent products.

Easy to install and a big improvement over the stock idlers.... Which had worn down and were becoming VERY noisy. Premium materials and quiet operation are outstanding. I have purchased items from T cycle in the past... Accessory mounts, underseat racks and will continue to do so in the future when looking for exceptional products.... Thanks!!
