It’s sooo much better then
It’s sooo much better then the original. Night & day. Big, huge recommendation! Super comfortable and supportive. If you don’t have one, get one ASAP, you won’t regret it.
Ok neck rest
This neck rest is not as big as the original or as hard as the original. It's better than the Catrike original but not as good as my previous purchase from Steve. Shipped right away.
Great conversion for the Catrike!
The photo is the headrest on my Catrike Expedition. It is a massive improvement on the "Brillo pad" headrest that is stock on the Catrikes. I have had this on my Expedition since 2009 and still solid as a rock and comfy to the back of my neck.
I purchased the Catrike neckrest conversion kit with both foam pads and with custom embroidery. I didn’t know that the foam was memory foam. Very nice! It doesn’t transmit much road vibration at all. I can ride resting on it over some pretty severe bumps with no discomfort, unlike the factory neckrest. Having both pads lets me change depending on the temperature since memory foam is temperature sensitive. Firmer when it’s warm and softer when it’s cold. I was surprised and disappointed at first that the cover was not a soft stretchy fabric like the factory one from Catrike but after messing around with it have decided that it will be more durable and water resistant to protect the foam underneath. Steve Sussman embroidered Calvin & Hobbes riding downhill on their wagon. Since I have a CATrike and it is fire red (think day glow orange), I have named it Hobbes. I will post pictures on the Catrike Owners Group on Facebook. I gave it 5 stars even though I was disappointed in the the mounting brackets. They are adjustable, but they don’t get close enough to each other to bolt to my factory neckrest brackets without adding some washers and they should have been painted black to match the neckrest. The price seems a little steep until you actually get one and use it. The pain of the cost quickly goes away.
